Mr. Darren Henry joined the Krannert School of Management as Director of Diversity Initiatives in July of 2007.  As Director, Darren is responsible for assisting with the recruitment of both undergraduate and graduate underrepresented students as well as with the ongoing initiative in the recruitment and success of underrepresented staff and faculty.  Darren also identifies and directs diversity initiatives in alignment with the Krannert School of Management’s mission.  He assists in enhancing the overall understanding of diversity and its impact in this ever-changing environment.

Darren succeeded the former Director of Diversity Initiatives 2 months after completing his MBA.  While pursuing his master’s degree, Darren was heavily involved in the Purdue Community and spent most of his time mentoring undergraduate students.  While in school, Darren was the course instructor for MGMT 243, “Contemporary Thought of Minorities in Management,” and a Vice President for the Krannert Graduate Society of Black Managers (KGSBM) handling alumni relations and community outreach.  Under Mr. Henry’s direction, KGSBM was able to substantially donate to the homeless in Lafayette, Indiana along with the American Diabetes Association.  Before returning to school, Mr. Henry was active as a teen advisor within his church.

Darren also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and worked for several years in pharmaceutical manufacturing as a consultant for Schering Plough Products, LLC in Manatί, Puerto Rico and Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis, Indiana before deciding to further his education.
