GIF: Global Issues Fund Application Guidelines

The Purdue University Global Issues Fund (GIF) was created to promote and support activities that increase international understanding and economic enterprise for businesses in Indiana.  Funding for the program is provided by the United States Department of Education and the Purdue University Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). 

Eligibility
Businesses, resource organizations and academic institutions are invited to apply for the GIF award.  Individuals are not eligible. Discussions, seminars or workshops should provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas about international business and the economics of exporting products and services. 

Award
Awards will range from $500 to $1,200.  The funding will cover a portion of the costs associated with one or more speakers for programs that increase the global competitiveness of enterprises.  Please note that these grants cannot cover charges for food or beverages. 

Procedures
A complete application consists of two steps:

1.    Complete the application form and send it to jaulby@purdue.edu.

2.    Mail, fax, or e-mail the following additional application materials:

       A. Descriptive narrative with the following information: 
            1) The mission and brief history of the sponsoring organization(s),  
            2) A statement outlining the relevance of the proposed program to GIF's mission 
                of helping Indiana businesses become more globally competitive
            3) Description of the target audience 
            4) Details of the date and location of event
            5) Brief biographical information about the speaker(s).  

       B. An itemized budget containing the following information: 
            1)
All program costs  
            2) All revenue sources, including participant fees

       C. List of steering committee members and their affiliations

Please note that award recipients are obligated to submit a summary of participant evaluations after their event.
