CIBER Ph.D. Dissertation Award

We are pleased to offer a yearly award to assist Krannert Ph.D. with the dissertation research.

This award is intended to stimulate research on international aspects of business. Proposals from all curriculum areas in Krannert (Economics, Management, and Organizational Behavior and Human Resources) are invited. Theoretical and empirical research on any topic related to international management or international trade will be considered

Funding
The CIBER dissertation award provides a monthly stipend of around $1300 (updated yearly) for up to twelve months and remission of most of the cost tuition and fees. The Purdue University Board of Trustees will determine grant, tuition and fee levels for the following academic year in the spring of the previous year. Applicants may request additional funding to cover other research expenses such as data acquisition or travel to professional meetings to present papers.nt papers.

Students receiving funding from another source may apply for supplemental support for dissertation-related expenses not provided by that source.

Conditions:

  • All preliminary examinations must be passed prior to activation of the grant
  • Grants may be activated at the start of the summer, fall or spring terms.
  • Students receiving a full CIBER award may not accept support (e.g. fellowship, assistantship, scholarship, or instructorship) from another source during the term of the grant or be a prior recipient of such grants.
  • Students applying for complementary and/or supplemental support should provide details of their existing support in the application materials.

Deadline
Applications for these grants should be submitted to the CIBER office in Kran 525 by the end of February to be considered for the following academic year. The CIBER Faculty Advisory Committee will review proposals and make the grant recommendations by the end of March.

A formal announcement will be posted outside the CIBER office in the Spring.
