2007-2008 Strategic Plan

The Krannert Graduate Student Association (KGSA) serves to represent the interests of the entire student body of the Krannert Graduate School of Management (KGSM). Through the establishment of an elected government, it shall provide a platform for the discussion of issues of student concern and act as the instrument by which student interest may be voiced to the administration of Krannert and Purdue University.

As an organizing body, the established student government shall facilitate the planning and implementation of student activities, programs, and processes designed to increase value to the KGSM experience. KGSA works to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to institutional initiatives and resource allocation.

Strategic Mission for KGSA

  1. Improve the overall experience of Krannert students, by providing valuable opportunity to foster leadership and professional development, while also providing a forum for student interaction, across concentration areas. 
  2. Act as the liaison for communication between the students and Krannert administration, including but not limited to the Dean’s Office, Master’s Office, Krannert Faculty, Graduate Career Services, and the Information Technology Department of Krannert
  3. Provide enriching opportunities that aim to represent the interest of all students, on a social, professional, and leadership level.

Initiatives for the 2007-2008 Academic Year

  1. Improve alumni relations with current students through expansion of the Alumni Mentor Program
  2. Continue the successful programs implemented by the previous board to maintain institutional memory.
    1. Part 1: Capture 80% student body membership in KGSA by providing a wide array of activities specific to KGSA members; and
    2. Part 2: Develop a well-balanced portfolio of events and programs that provide social, professional, and leadership opportunities for all students.
  3. Improve cohesiveness, interaction, and communication among clubs and KGSA to add value to the MBA experience.
  4. Expand the Ambassador Program to aid the Admissions Department in gaining.
  5. Form a student panel on curriculum to provide students’ recommendations to the administration.

µ      Alumni mentoring program

µ      KGSA Club Case Competition

µ     Trips to professional sporting events (basketball, etc)

µ      Dinner with the Dean

µ      Golf outings with Professors

µ      Lunch with professors

µ     Faculty and Dean Spotlighting during Coffee and Social Hour

µ     Executive conversation hour (access to high level corporate executives)

µ      International Breakfasts to promote cultural and ethnic awareness

µ     Free membership in one Krannert graduate school club

µ      Discounted membership in additional clubs and club-sponsored trips
