IBM
Bradena W. Payne is currently a part of IBM Integrated Supply Chain as a client
solutions procurement bid team lead. Ms. Payne joined IBM in July 2003, as one of 12
candidates entering the Supply Chain Leadership Program (SCLP). The SCLP is designed to
attract highly skilled candidates with graduate degrees to help transform IBM’s Supply Chain and
develop future leaders. While in the Supply Chain Leadership Program (SCLP), Ms. Payne was
involved in interviewing and evaluating future candidates, which led to a opportunity to make the
interviewing process more efficient. As a result, she led a team to patent the interview process
which is currently in ‘patent pending’ status.
Prior to joining IBM, Ms. Payne’s experience includes: production control exports parts
specialist with Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America; and, SAP material management and
SAP purchasing data specialist with Amoco Corporation.
Ms. Payne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Materials and Logistics Management (MLM)
from Michigan State University and an MBA in Operations and Manufacturing & Technology
Management from Purdue University. Additionally, she completed graduate coursework from
Purdue University/German International Graduate School of Management in Hannover,
Germany. She was part of the National Black MBA Association International Case Competition
Finalist for Purdue’s University Case Team.
Ms. Payne is currently active in a variety of community services initiatives. She takes
great pride in mentoring youth. Her mentors range from elementary age to those early in their
career. She is part of IBM Integrated Supply Chain Women Early in Career committee, IBM
Dallas/ Fort Worth Transcenders of Diversity member, and IBM Technology Clinics. She is also
involved in volunteer efforts with the American Red Cross and the Boys and Girls Club of Frisco,
Texas.
Ms. Payne is an active member in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and
National Black MBA Association, and currently resides in Dallas, TX.
