403 West State StreetWest Lafayette47907-2056765-494-3401765-494-3401Krannert Center 233Professor Siebert joined the Krannert School of Management in January 2004, working in the area of industrial organization, econometrics, and microeconomics. His research is grounded in the interface between applied theory and empirical testing, i.e., structural modeling. The investigation of the competitiveness of firms with respect to dynamic strategic behavior forms the center of his research work. Professor Siebert's research interests include: mergers, joint ventures, multi-product competition and product differentiation, innovation, patenting and licensing, dynamics in markets and firms. His recent publications include: (i) "Market Power versus Efficiency Effects of Mergers and Research Joint Ventures: Evidence from the Semiconductor Industry" with Klaus Gugler, forthcoming in <i>Review of Economics and Statistics</i>, 2007. (ii) "Why Firms Form (or don’t form) RJVs" with L.-H. Röller and M. Tombak, <i>Economic Journal</i>, July 2007. Professor Siebert was a research fellow at Harvard University prior to joining the Krannert faculty. Prior to that, he was a research fellow at WZB (Germany) and a visiting research fellow at Yale University. He won the European Young Economist Award in 2000 and also received the European Young Economist Award in 2001. &#x20;
