 Master of Finance (MSF)

The purpose of the program
Commencing in the summer of 2008, the MSF program requires one year of intensive study and 40 credit hours of coursework in finance, accounting, economics, and quantitative methods. The program will consist of five modules. The first module will begin in the summer prior to the fall semester. During the regular school year, classes will be taken in parallel with other Krannert master’s students over the course of the remaining academic year.

The program is designed to position graduates to take jobs in the finance industry. Students completing the program will be qualified to work in corporate finance, investment management, security analysis and brokerage, commercial and retail banking, and financial management of commercial and non-profit organizations.

The plan of study

The MSF degree leverages our established MBA core curriculum with a concentrated focus on finance, accounting, economics, and quantitative methods. Coursework is further augmented with material from specialty areas such as capital markets, derivatives, and risk management.
