Throughout
the building complex, you can take advantage of
the following features:
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Thanks to corporate and foundation investors such
as Ameritech, AT&T Foundation, Hewlett-Packard,
IBM, Microsoft, SAP America, and the Chrysler
Foundation, Krannert has one of the most extensive
computing laboratory complexes found in any business
school. Krannert actively uses many computer-based
business simulations in areas such as enterprise
integration, financial trading, e-commerce, and
data visualization to give students the technical
training they need to succeed today.
Network connectivity throughout labs, the library,
and meeting rooms provides immediate high-speed
access to the Internet. Public areas and classrooms
offer wireless networking and support most personal
digital assistant devices. And in conjunction
with the University of California-Irvine, the
Katalyst Curriculum Integration System allows
users to create a program-wide calendar, engage
in discussion groups, download readings, upload
homework and assignments, access faculty Web pages,
and view video streams of speakers. Fully wired
classrooms feature the latest technology for presentations
and videoconferencing. For more information on
Information Technology at Krannert, visit the
Krannert Computing
Center website.
MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS
LIBRARY
The Management and Economics Library encompasses
the full range of recorded management thought,
from an 8,000-volume rare-book collection, to
databases of financial statistics, full-text journals,
and marketing and government data sources. The
entire collection totals approximately 115,000
volumes, with a 900-title periodical section and
access to more than 175 business, management,
and economics databases. For more information,
see www.lib.purdue.edu/mel.
COMMONS AND STUDY
AREAS
A skylit atrium at the center of Rawls Hall, complemented
by commons areas on each floor, provides an airy
environment for gatherings or study. Executive
conference rooms are available for important meetings,
and smaller groups can use breakout rooms located
throughout the building. Students can enjoy the
art on display in the Drawing Room, a gallery/commons
area in the Krannert Building, and reserve Weiler
Lounge in Krannert Center for special events.
