EXAMPLES
OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
In a production/operations management class with
Prof.
James Ward, students run a mock factory, moving
pieces of plastic tubing through a simulated production
line to learn how to improve efficiency.
Students in the mergers and acquisitions course
taught by Prof.
Diane Denis interact with company executives
as they recommend potential acquisition targets
for the companies.
Students taking a supply-chain management couse
taught by Associate
Dean Logan Jordan allows students to partner
with Honeywell executives to explore new markets
for existing company technologies.
DISTINGUISHED PROFESSORS
Krannert faculty are more than educators - they
are also recognized leaders in their fields of
study. They serve as editors or on the editorial
boards of more than 50 professional journals,
and the research productivity of the school's
management program is ranked among the world's
best.
Two Krannert finance professors, John
McConnell and Bill
Lewellen, were ranked among the top five most
prolific researchers of the last 50 years in 16
core academic journals, according to a study published
in the Journal of Financial Literature. Many of
our faculty members provide consulting services
to Fortune 500 companies, while others work on
projects funded by government agencies, private
foundations, and corporate sponsors.
STUDENT / PROFESSOR
INTERACTION
Krannert promotes an active dialogue between professors
and students. Enjoying a student-faculty ratio
better than 4-to-1, our master's students establish
strong relationships with the faculty and find
boundless opportunities for collaboration and
learning. This occurs both in the classroom and
in more casual settings, such as the weekly master's
social hour. Ultimately, our faculty will not
only be your teachers, but also your mentors and
friends.
