About the

Larsen Leaders Academy

The Marshall and Susan Larsen Leaders Academy was established in 2018, thanks to the generosity of Krannert alumnus and Dean’s Advisory Council member Marshall Larsen (MSIA ’77) and his wife, Susan. The Larsens are committed to supporting high-achieving business students and Purdue in graduating top leaders. The Larsens frequently come back to campus and enjoy spending time with Krannert students to learn more about how they can help them excel.

Our Mission

We develop achievers. With student success at our core, we create a culture of achievement for high-performing business students through challenging academic programs; hands-on industry projects; professional development opportunities; and internships that prepare students for jobs with global organizations and enrollment in prestigious graduate programs.

Our Vision

The Larsen Leaders Academy attracts high-performing students motivated to create their own personal competitive advantage through peer mentoring and signature leadership and development opportunities. Larsen students are accomplished, dynamic leaders prepared to make an immediate impact on our world.

LEARN

As a Larsen Leaders Academy student, you will learn through scholarly and creative endeavors including cross-functional curriculum from across campus; honors courses and projects; study abroad trips; case competitions; internships; on-campus consulting groups; research projects and more.

Two courses are for LLA students only. MGMT 110, Introduction to Management and Information Strategies, is taken freshman year, first semester. This course encourages our LLA students to hit the ground running, as it is a challenging, guided experience through the Lilly Case Competition. The Eli Lilly-sponsored and judged competition is open to LLA students only. Also open to LLA students only is MGMT 391, Strategic Decision Making.

LEAD

Take the lead by serving on the academy's Executive Student Board, which plans and facilitates events and learning experiences for LLA. Meet our board members.

Develop your leadership skills through the Larsen Academy Mentor Program (LAMP). This program gives LLA juniors and seniors the opportunity to mentor fellow LLA students (freshman and sophomores). And: LLA mentors are guided through the mentoring program by Krannert alumni!
