With the Larsen Leaders Academy

LEARNING COMMUNITY

The Larsen Leaders Academy (LLA) is a learning community. As a member, you will get to know your peers, faculty and staff through a case competition and social events throughout the academic year. Larsen students also have the option of joining the live-in portion of the Larsen Leaders Academy Learning Community.

Larsen Academy Mentor Program (LAMP)

LAMP

Become a mentor or a mentee through the Larsen Academy Mentor Program (LAMP). This program connects incoming students with upperclassmen. Through group dinners and one-on-one meetings, this program will guide you through your Krannert career. LLA freshman and sophomores: Become a mentee to have a brighter Krannert future! LLA juniors and seniors: Become a mentor, guided by a Krannert alum! Ask your advisor about LAMP, and email larsenleadersacademy@purdue.edu with any questions.

  • traveling to a national conference in New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago to network with professionals in your field
  • enjoying a study abroad experience
  • getting involved with a faculty-directed student research project

There’s almost no end to the possibilities of what you can do! Apply for a Transformational Experiences Grant. For more information, contact Steve Shelby, director of the Larsen Leaders Academy. View the Larsen Leaders Academy Transformational Experience Grant Guidelines

Below are two videos from past recipients of the LLA Transformational Experiences Grant that showcase the types of opportunities you can engage in.

STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIP

Students admitted to the Larsen Leaders Academy beginning in 2019 who have a demonstrated financial need as determined by Purdue University’s Division of Financial Aid*, are eligible for a study abroad scholarship that covers the full cost of any of the Krannert short term study abroad programs, including a fixed allowance for travel expenses. Students participating in semester programs may receive up to $6,000. Students who also receive scholarship money from other sources at Purdue (e.g. Purdue Moves) may receive a Larsen scholarship that makes up the difference between the full cost of the program and their other scholarship. The Larsen scholarship may be used one time during the student’s tenure at Krannert subject to being in good academic standing and being qualified for the program.

For more information, please contact your advisor.

*Students must have submitted a FAFSA to Purdue University to be considered. Students who receive a Larsen Leaders Academy Study Abroad scholarship are not eligible for the Transformational Experiences Grant. See your advisor for more details.
