Michael Jonelis may have earned his bachelor’s degree in economic consulting and business analytics from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, but when it came time to choose a graduate program to further his studies, Purdue’s Krannert School of Management quickly became his top choice. “It had the perfect mix of core courses and electives I wanted," he says.

MSBAIM Students Take Second Place in Analytics Case Competition

A team of students from the Krannert School of Management’s MS in Business Analytics and Information Management (MSBAIM) program recently won second place and $3,500 at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business’ annual Business Analytics Case Competition.

An employer’s relationship with the Krannert Professional Development Center (KPDC) doesn’t begin and end with recruiting. From corporate partnerships to network building to skills training, employers engage with KPDC for talent acquisition at every level. At the conclusion of a successful fall recruiting campaign, for example, Tiger Analytics reconnected with KPDC to coordinate recruiting efforts for spring graduates and conduct training sessions to aid in their development.
Krannert Teams Take the Top Three Spots in Business Analytics Poster Competition

Teams of students from the Krannert School of Management’s MS in Business Analytics and Information Management (MSBAIM) program swept the field in the student poster competition at the INFORMS Business Analytics conference on April 3-5, 2022, in Houston, Texas. SAS sponsored an award of $1,000 for the top student poster, and certificates were awarded for the second- and third-place student posters.

Purdue's Krannert School selected as finalist for 2022 UPS George D. Smith Prize

INFORMS, the largest association for the decision and data sciences, has selected Purdue University's Krannert School of Management as one of three finalists for the 2022 UPS George D. Smith Prize, which recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of operations research and analytics.

Krannert to host analytics case competition

Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management will host the second annual Crossroads Classic Analytics Challenge in February. The case competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students at Purdue, Butler University, Indiana University, and the University of Notre Dame.

Krannert master’s students take top honors in STAMINA/IT Analytics case competition

A team of four Krannert master’s students in the school’s MS in Business Analytics and Information Management program took home the top prize in September’s STAMINA/IT Analytics case competition, a campus-wide event host by the Krannert Communication Center. Calling themselves the “Boilerminers,” the team was composed of Alejandro Brillembourg Cuenca, Michael Jonelis, Piper Doyle and Ryan Egbert. They bested 18 advancing teams of four in a case for DRONEDEK, a pre-revenue startup company based in Indianapolis that Daniel O’Toole founded and organized in 2020 based on patent information approved in 2017.

Local businesses lean on subscriptions to build revenue, customer connections

A growing number of local businesses are latching onto an age-old retail concept: the monthly subscription service. The idea of having customers periodically pay in advance for products or services is nothing new. Newspapers and magazines have operated on this model for centuries, and beer-, coffee-, fruit- and cigar-of-the-month clubs have existed for decades. But in the last decade or so, national companies have launched subscriptions for everything from cosmetics to meal kits to pet products. Mohammad Rahman, an associate professor of management at Purdue's Krannert School of Management, comments on the trend.

Purdue team takes home top honors in ECS Hackathon

A team of Purdue graduate students recently took home first place in the 2021 ECS Hackathon on "The Future of Work." The winning team was comprised of Anisha Desai, Snigdha Rai, Mayank Jha, Kshama Sharma, Usama Ather, Prerak Patel, and Sakshee Agarwal.
