Applying for a Graduate Certificate

You must apply for the graduate certificate using the Graduate School’s online application, whether or not you are currently enrolled at Purdue University. It will appear as though you are applying to the Graduate School as a regular graduate student (even though you may already be enrolled in the Graduate School through another department). Once you reach the question asking for the Enrollment Objective, select the Certificate Program option. The form will default to the information needed to complete the application. You will be required to pay the application fee.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Krannert Graduate Certificate program in Business Essentials, a student must submit the following documents to complete the application:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher*
  • Current Resume
  • A 300-word personal statement
  • Official transcripts from all universities attended, including transfer credits
  • Official transcripts from all universities attended in the original language as well as the English translation for transcripts and diplomas not in English.
  • Video Essay - Required online (KIRA) video interview/essay is provided in the application portal once your application is submitted.
  • TOEFL requirement has been waived for Online Graduate Certificates

*In lieu of the degree requirement above, Purdue Undergraduate students (Senior/Junior standing) will provide a current official transcript. Undergraduate students will be awarded the graduate certificate and conferral on official Purdue University transcript upon completion of the current undergraduate degree.

Those not currently enrolled at Purdue must first apply and be admitted, either to the Graduate Certificate Program or as a non-degree student. Those students will then enroll in the certificate courses through Purdue Online Learning.
